  I'm not recommending this for obvious reasons, but my brother had a lot of pain from arthritis in his toes. He was helping out at a friend's carwash and somehow the tire of a car rolled over and stopped on his toes for a few seconds. There was no damage to his toes or foot...except that the pain was gone (for about 4 months). He asked his doc about it & she said she could only suppose that the pressure from the tire "spread" the bones of his toes apart, stopping the friction that caused the pain. I told him to get his other foot run over. He wouldn't 😂

  I HAD this problem, it first started in my right big toe. All I did was flex my big toe and aggressively massage the muscles surrounding it. It took a few months but gradually all the soreness went away. Later on my left big toe developed the same problem, I'm doing the same routine for my left big toe. Its taken a little longer to heal but the soreness is almost all gone. Worked for me, never went to a doctor.

  I'm 80 yrs. Old, i remember when I was a kid, you could go to a shoe store and you could use a xray machine to see your feet. Does anybody remember thes machines?

  You&apos;re reading my mail!<br>I&apos;m mid 70&apos;s and started swimming laps for exercise and have substantially reduced walking and it helps a lot. I also had quite severe gout episodes from time to time and quitting alcohol has fixed that. Quitting alcohol has fixed lots of things including my weight, memory, mood and energy levels but that&apos;s a story for another video...

  Narrow feet add another challenge, very hard to find shoes that fit, even with an orthotic, some NB can be special ordered, but the arthritis issues continue to

  I had my toe fussed 20 years ago when I was 65. I was out of work for two months. Very happy now. Full recovery and no long term problems. It takes longer to remove than a hip replacement. Feet take longer to heal I am told. Thanks for the video,

  Hokas are ok. The best for my hallux rigidus are Altras with a big toe box. I was able to walk over 800k on the Camino Frances with 1.2 million steps using Altras without much discomfort. I’ll buy Altras for as long as they make them!!

  I am in my 70&apos;s, and I jammed my big toe on my left foot 25 years ago. It gets real sore occasionally with overdoing the treadmill or who knows what, and I have to be real careful for a few weeks. They did a scan of it and said that was the only spot where I had arthritis. I found a variety of shoes with an extra large toe box online and they are very helpful. They were under $50 US.

  I had the fusion surgery. Very happy. Am out 15 years, and still no pain. &nbsp;I wear orthotics in my shoes to hold my foot in correct position.

  I had large toe arthritis diagnosed in my 30s! I had a cheilectomy done in my early 40’s and a fusion done in my early 60’s. <br><br>I had a stress fracture of my 2nd toe during my post fusion recovery. I’m now 72 and the base of this 2nd toe is quite painful. I’ll need to have it diagnosed.
