  It would be cool if you did Long-Haul episodes about <br>* Helicopter incidents. <br>* Prop Plane incidents.<br>* Ego-Driven mistakes (You might have something like this).<br>* Coincidence Driven incidents<br>* Water Landings<br>* Subtle Sabotage<br>* CRM breakdown<br>* Proximity incidents.... accidents that happen in close temporal proximity to others, how they might have changed - influenced the next incident negatively. <br>* Icing incidents?

  No matter under what circumstances, getting a jet airliner into the air without any fuel indication at all is nothing but insane!

  I drive one of my cars to Gimli from Winnipeg to race regularly. This story of the Gimli Glider is legendary. Good old &quot;Scare Canada&quot; never ceases to amaze.

  For many years, here in the US, I worked at race tracks around the country as a corner worker. A very good friend of mine, from Winnipeg, &nbsp;came down here to work with us. John was at Gimli when the plane landed. That weekend they were actually having a road race, not a drag race. Where they landed was actually on the drag strip, but it was not &nbsp;active that weekend. Cool story

  The Gimli Glider story still makes me chuckle, even after years of knowing about it. Since I have next to no knowledge of Canadian geography, my association with the name was a slightly different one 😅.<br>(And then a small voice in my keeps chanting: don’t toss it, don’t toss it 😂)

  I saw an interview where the copilot/first officier was talking about the Gimli sideslip manoeuvre. Although he knew what the captain was doing, even he was fairly scared, saying the passengers must have been terrified. It was a stupid error that caused the incident, followed by a brilliant piece of airmanship and problem solving without panic
