  Damn. Ur gonna piss off contractors. My grandma installed a new unit from watching your vid. She’s struggling with the brazing though.  Took her a couple times. Damn tremors.  But she is living in comfy temps. Thanks brother!!

  While the prices for a full FieldPiece tech set might be out of range for most, a CPS vacuum gauge, apion valve removal tools, and a harbor freight vacuum pump, and voila!  Sub $500 and you get to be that guy who helps family and friends install their mini splits. Done 5 already. Never a full soldering job. Yet. 😊

  Thanks for the video and information that you provided, A couple things - I'd use Wago's instead of the wire nuts.  I'd also add a curved section of metal to the bottom of the return plenum as it heads to the filter - this will prevent the air from hitting a wall when it is heading from above to the filter - just adding a little efficiency for not much cost. Lastly, I'd add some rigid insulation to the exteriors of the ducting and flex insulation to all remaining refrigerant lines.

  Here’s me seeing gaps at the filter slot and tape all over the unit, and thinking that the “professional installation” that I paid for ten years ago looks just like this system. Unfortunately, that company was acquired and the new company calls every month to sell me a new one…at twice the price what I paid a decade ago. They tell me that my system is unsafe because it’s over the 8 year lifespan. Thankfully, I found this video and have a multimeter so I can just swap out my hvac system for a newer one! 😅 /s
