R454B Vs. R32, which is better? Not what you THINK!

  There’s one item overlooked in this discussion and it has tremendous value in the decision making. Blended refrigerants are a disaster after leaking. Since blended refrigerants have different boiling points then when it leaks which one leaked out more, no one knows. When leak is fixed and system is recharged with the old refrigerant and topped off, it will have an imbalance in the blend, thus destroying your 454B chart. If the system gets recharged with new refrigerant then all good, but the costs are high for 3 reasons. 454B is patented and made in the US and priced by the maker that can change any time and more lbs has to be purchased. 32 is not patented and not blended and widely available around the world keeping its costs low, it can also be reused and topped off with no imbalance.

  Feels like just yesterday R410A was the new kid on the block.  Off to refrigerant-heaven it goes.  Say "hi" to R-22 for us :-)

  Price of refridgerant made my decision easy. I will only service sell or install Goodman, Amana, Daikin! I'm in the Dallas/Fort Worth area a R454b is over $800 a drum.  The r32 is only $225 a drum.

  No mention of the profit factors. R32 is a pure refrigerant and already the base for most modern refrigerants including 410A and 454B. R32 has an open patent and widely available all over the world. 454B is proprietary and the 1234yf is extremely expensive.

  Please do another video showing how well these new refrigerants perform for heating regarding a heat pump and compare those results to R410a

  The one that stays around the longest. R454B will eventually banned too since it contains PFAS chemicals. R32 will be around the longest since it is a non blended non PFAS chemical refrigerant.

  I&apos;m still running R22.<br>I&apos;m glad I waited but concerned with the new refrigerant. <br>I heard sensors required and to me the more complicated a system, the more that can go wrong.

  Great low down on the battle of the cool. I will probably stay with the less is more and not go r32 unless forced to. More steps is more time and time is money. Less pressure is good too. Great work.
