To me Unpacking was a horror game. Moving to a new place is a nightmare and finding a place to put all my crap is one of the worst parts.

I feel like this "don't mix emotions" idea only really works when comparing to cozy games. Essentially all combat-focused RPGs alternate between tension and power. And wonder and exploration belong in many games.

What worked out pretty well for me was just remaking games I loved as a kid (Diablo -> Powerlust >1.5M downloads, Majesty -> Crownbound 12k wishlists), not exactly super unique tho ;d

Yoink and Twist is a decent strategy. Built my career on that! My only variation is that I tend to Yoink and Twist ideas that are not current trend chasing, but rather long out of the current trends. Yoink and Twist a game we've not seen for 20 years and you have more of a chance to feel new and fresh. I like to chase games that were favorites to me growing up and I still crave the fun they delivered on. There's a lot of great game ideas lost to the past that are waiting a revival.

Great concept of the interest bar for the game in the later half of the video! Very useful to think like that. Thank you!

Fantastic, just on time. I have a lot of big ideas and I need to make a more condensed version of one of them so that I can get something published and get the budget to focus on the bigger ones. Will listen to this tomorrow while walking. Thank you!
