Would you ever consider starting again somewhere like Thailand in your 60s?
And if you're already living here, what made you take the leap? I'd be interested to hear your story.

I retired at 55. I moved to Thailand at 61. I am still in Thailand at 70 . . . and loving it here. Retire in Thailand at 60? Restart your life at 60? I say yes. It certainly worked for me. But at my age now I think that starting at 70 would be a challenge. Not at all impossible. It’s just that I’m feeling my limitations now. And the thing is, we all age differently, both physically and mentally. Moving abroad is no small thing. I can only say that you should come and start while you are still active and a healthy.

For me , the best thing was my Thai wife , educated with a great job , looking after me big time ! I originally wanted to live on the beach , now in Isaan and loving it.
Soon 70 , hopefully few years ahead of me .....😅

60 is the sweetspot for me , 7 yrs to go. I love your perspective in your videos. Since i had a lifestyle reset 3 yrs ago and got back into good shape, my goal is to be as fit an healthy as i can entering my 60s and retirement. Much more achievable these days. My father was chronically ill during his retirement and never got to enjoy it, lesson in life for me is not to just to get there but when i get there be as fit and healthy as i can to enjoy it. Looking seriously at moving over there in some way after 60 or earlier if the planets align...

George what do you think of what this gentleman said about expats retiring in Thailand and the inherent caste system and lack of universal healthcare?
https://youtu.be/wC72UhNOEYA?si=2xTbgLJ2hoh0NniQ

You said you “like” it here, but you did not use the word “love”.

Hi George, cheers for the video. What I'm interested to know is how many Thai friends do you have, not just other expats, and do you know enough Thai to have a conversation with a Thai person?

I retired early (59) in the US bcus of job frustration and my back problems. My marriage wasnt the best and i just felt trapped. I waited for our son to turn 18 and to finish high school. Knowing i didnt have much savings and wouldn't be able to afford living in the US on social security. So, i packed 1 suitcase and moved here last Oct. Ive since gotten divorced (amicably) and trying to start the last chapter of my life at 61. I now feel free, and not looking for any long term relationships. The main thing i am learning is budgeting since i havent had to do this in a very long time. So far, so good. Unfortunately i still have 5mo before i start to receive my social security (been using savings since i retired).
