  I saw this song live on the Slippery When Wet tour. &nbsp;I took a girl to the concert without really knowing much about Bon Jovi, and I was blown away by the performance of this song. &nbsp;It was pretty awesomely done! &nbsp;And it wasn&apos;t their biggest song at the time, Livin&apos; on a Prayer was really the only song I knew of theirs prior to the concert.

  “Dead or Alive” isn’t specifically about cowboys, but the lifestyle of a cowboy AND a touring musician are not dissimilar, and I am so glad to see new stuff from you!!!

  The metaphor makes sense: Not many musicians loved the touring part of their jobs, it&apos;s just something they have to do to support making music. &nbsp;Most cowboys didn&apos;t love having to run from storms, bandits, and bounties just to be able to eat and sleep somewhere, it was just their job.

  When Jon Bon Jovi was still in high school, his band was playing a Springsteen cover in a local bar, when the Boss himself wandered in, and joined them on stage. The two of them go way back.

You listening to a verse, reading some backstory, then listen to the next, and so on.... &nbsp;It gets boring listening to reactors say, &quot;I wonder what he meant by this?&quot; Or, &quot;I wonder what that meant?&quot;.   I had taken &quot;steel horse&quot; more literally as a tour bus rather than a motorcycle as the literal meaning of the song&apos;s method of transportation &amp; the woes experienced. (it works better, I think).
