  I highly recommend the live acoustic version of this and Livin on a Prayer from the 1989 VMA’s. Both Jon and Ritchie’s vocals are amazing

  I grew up with Jon.  Knew him since 1970 or so when we were in scouts together and lived in the same town.  My mom and his mom were working together in a sales business back then.

  Richie Sambora deserves his own reaction.  One hell of a singer and an amazing guitarist.  Stranger in this Town got some amazing praise and reviews (One of Richie's solo albums).

  I got a chance to see this live when they were on the Slippery tour. The stage was flooded with purple light, and suddenly, a wall of fog dropped to the floor from the overhead lighting rig. The acoustic guitar started and Richie walked through the wall with his cowboy hat and bad-ass Ovation guitar on. They killed it! One of my favorite concert memories ever.

  Jon and richie are vocal soulmates. The way the harmonize sooo perfectly together is beautiful! And it's rare to see. Also, richie is a killer singer! You should review Father Time

  Jon explored different singing styles during the 80s & 90s before his vocals started to slowly decline at the turn of the century. I feel that his most impressive performance was for the track "Santa Fe" from his first solo album, Blaze of Glory. Richie Sambora also released solo albums, the first being Stranger in This Town w/ the epic track "Father Time". For harmonies involving both, the best example is probably "I'll Be There for You".

  Not a huge fan of them but this song is one of the best songs ever written .
