  That is gravy on the chicken fried steak. It is made from milk or cream instead of water and that is why it is white. Same concept as the gravy with biscuits and gravy. Pork sausage based

  Quick(?) rundown on the Jam, Jelly, Jello thing. <br>Jello is flavored gelatin, usually fruit flavored, what you call Jelly. <br>Jelly, to us Americans, is made with the strained juice of various fruits, such as grape or strawberry. <br>Jam is similar, but contains pieces of the fruit. <br>Preserves are made with large chucks or whole fruits. <br>Jam or Jelly are very good in a peanut butter and jelly sandwich, while preserves would be difficult, and Jello would be utterly insane.

  So the baby back ribs “song“ that Harry is thinking of is actually a jingle to a restaurant chain here called Chili’s. Austin Powers did a joke using that same jingle.<br><br>“I want my baby back baby back baby back….. ribs!<br>Chili’s BABY BACK RIBS!<br>…….barbecue sauce!” 😂

  The majority of people in Philly are not getting the whiz(cheese sauce)when they get cheesesteaks. They get provolone or cooper sharp. Cooper sharp is the preferred choice as it’s not only the best cheese for cheesesteaks but it’s mostly exclusive to Pennsylvania

  Alabama white sauce is a creamy, tangy, and peppery barbecue sauce made from mayonnaise (instead of typical tomato-based), apple cider vinegar, black pepper, and horseradish. &nbsp;It&apos;s very specific to certain states in the South. &nbsp;Barbecue sauce is very regional. &nbsp;Chicken and dumplings is also very popular here although many Southern cooks use biscuit dough instead of the more noodly types of dumplings in some places in the East. &nbsp;Many states grow potatos but Idaho just grows the most potatoes 120.7 million CWT - or about 1/3 of all US production. &nbsp;Same with Georgia and peaches. &nbsp;California and South Carolina actually grow more but Georgia is known for especially tasty ones, Choctaw is a Native American tribe. &nbsp;(we owe our indigenous societies a debt for introducing us to baked beans which they taught to the colonists who exchanged the maple syrup they used in them for molasses). &nbsp;Huckleberries are similar to blueberries but a bit more tangy. &nbsp;I read that Saltwater taffy (not made with salt water) is probably closest to Chewits over there or our Starburst. &nbsp;All hogs are pigs but not all pigs are hogs. &nbsp;It&apos;s an agricultural term that mainly relates to size - hogs (domestic or feral) are huge and raised for meat, as are smaller pigs. &nbsp;Buckeyes are similar to chestnuts and so named because they look like the eye of a male deer. &nbsp;Chicken fried steak is similar to schnitzel, only made with the breading we use for fried chicken. &nbsp;We have lots of different types of gravy here, beef, chicken, red-eye (made with coffee) and white sausage gravy which is kind of a peppery bechamel sauce often used to top biscuits. &nbsp;Seafood boil and gumbo have some similar ingredients and spices, but gumbo is essentially a soup and much thinner than jumbalaya or etoufee. &nbsp;Over here, JellO is basically a flavored gelatin brand - jelly is purely strained fruit juice boiled with sugar so it is very spreadable after it solidifies, jam is crushed or strained fruit cooked in sugar which is still very spreadable and preserves have large or whole pieces of fruit suspended in a syrupy base. Cheese curds are the youngest form of cheddar cheese. They are formed when fresh milk is curdled with rennet and cultures. After separating from the liquid whey, the curds are salted, cut into bite-sized pieces, and renowned for their signature &quot;squeak&quot; against the teeth when eaten fresh.
