  Huge thank you to @KrystinaLiberty for recommending this - you were absolutely right. This gave me a completely different understanding of what the anthem means to so many Americans. 🇩🇰🇺🇸<br><br>I looked into the history afterwards, and what struck me most is that the heart of this story really happened. Fort McHenry endured roughly 25 hours of bombardment, that enormous 30×42 ft flag was still there at dawn, and Francis Scott Key witnessed it and wrote the words that would eventually become the national anthem.<br><br>This video is a dramatized telling, so not every detail should be taken literally - but honestly, the documented story is powerful enough on its own.<br>I understand a little better now why this anthem means so much to so many of you. 🇺🇸<br><br>What does the Star-Spangled Banner mean to you personally?

  I’m a former Army attack helicopter pilot with combat experience. I will never live on my knees…This is why we never allow our flag to touch the ground. Thank you for your reaction!

  Freedom is NEVER free - someone always wants to take it away. The flag belongs to the people, not the government. That is why you see it flown absolutely everywhere in the US. We will die for it because we will die for each other.

  We chose our flag. It wasn&apos;t forced upon us. We will die for it. At least some of will.

  Every time I hear our Anthem, I get emotional. Knowing the story behind it, and the bravery of these men, I am so thankful! We are rich, even though we are young. We are so blessed!❤🇺🇸

  I&apos;ve heard this story many times but I still got teary eyed listening. So emotional every time I hear the my country&apos;s song.

  I cry every time I hear this story. I thank every veteran who ever fought for my country including my Dad, who was a disabled WW2 Vet that served in Europe. ❤🇺🇸❤🇺🇸❤
