  I&apos;ve said it before, and I&apos;ll say it again. Bob Ross taught me to see the beauty in the world and Mister Rogers taught me to see the beauty in myself. As a child growing up in an abusive home, I owe everything to that man. Rest in peace to a legend. We love you, Mister Rogers.

  I have never heard anyone say one bad thing about Mr. Rogers. We Gen X are very protective of him. He helped raise so many of us and he felt like a parent. ❤❤

  So here I am, a 70 year old man with tears rolling down my cheeks. Fred Rogers was such a genuinely good man and an important part of millions of Americans&apos; lives. Not only was he a highly-educated professional, he was someone that actually lived what he taught and believed. Mr. Rogers was also an ordained Presbyterian minister, that studied Catholicism, Buddhism and other world faiths. No matter who you were, or what you were going through, you knew that a few minutes with Mr. Rogers was likely to help you feel better. <br>It always helped me.

  After the attacks of 9/11, he came out retirement to help children and probably some adults deal with the emotions we were feeling the days after. <br>The world lost a wonderful human being the day he died.

  Another beautiful anecdote of his kindness. There was a blind girl who wrote him a letter asking how his pet fish was because it had been like a week or something since he had last mention feeding it. Every single episode after that he made sure to audibly say when he was going to feed his fish and I think he even added a sound effect of the food being sprinkled so blind children would know.

  I am also a 70-year-old man in America and remember quite well the racial injustice at the time. One of the most remarkable things Mr. Rogers ever did was so quiet that many people today miss its significance. In a 1969 episode, he invited Officer Clemmons, who was a black man, to sit with him and cool their feet together in a small wading pool. When they finished, Mr. Rogers dried Officer Clemmons&apos; feet with his own towel.<br><br>It seems like such a simple moment now, but it aired at a time when many public swimming pools in America were still segregated or facing violent backlash over integration. Without making a speech or drawing attention to himself, Mr. Rogers made a powerful statement that everyone deserved the same kindness, dignity, and humanity.<br><br>That&apos;s who he was: he taught values through gentle actions rather than grand declarations. &nbsp;I was 15 when this episode aired.

  I&apos;m 57, &nbsp;Canadian women. Mr. Rogers was my rock growing up. He was a Presbyterian Minister and schooled in Child &nbsp;Development. Beautiful soul...🥰🙏

  After he passed away, a news crew went to Mr Rogers real neighborhood where he lived and interviewed residents. They said that when they were kids their favorite house for trick or treat was Mr Rogers&apos; house because they gave out full size candy bars. Mr Rogers was so loved that in 2009 his car was stolen and when it was on the news that his car was stolen the thief returned it when he realized it was Mr Rogers&apos; car

  As a fatherless Latchkey kid growing up, Mr. Rogers was a father figure to me. He was ALWAYS there after school (in an age before reruns), and he taught me the things a father should teach a son. How to be a good man and a good person. He was the one who finally told me, convinced me, that my parents&apos; divorce was not my fault. He helped me understand divorce in a way that made sense to a kid. And, most powerful of all, he helped me believe that I wasn&apos;t a bad person or some kind of alien just because i was the only kid in my school who didn&apos;t have a dad. Imagine telling kids at school that you don&apos;t have a dad when they simply can&apos;t comprehend that idea. They thought i was a freak making up stories. Mr. Rogers taught me to be the man i am. <br><br>The Electric Company show ... that one, litterally, taught me how to read. (The Electric Company is where Morgan Freeman and Rita Moreno got their acting start. So, yes, Morgan Freeman was one of the teachers who taught me how to read and I&apos;m a writer today because of that.)<br><br>Thank you for reacting to this and for honoring Mr Rogers. I hope you find an episode of Mr Rogers Neighborhood to watch an actual full episide or two.
