  I honestly think that blandness you see out there in the street which is the cars today contributes a lot to modern day depression.

  Way before the range rover - 'Singer Vogue' 1962 had exactly the same type of split tailgate!  My Dad had one in the 60's,  I remember sitting on that when I was a kid - I'm sure there were other estates that did the same.

  When I was about 19 I bought a 6 year old MG Maestro 1.6 (even remembered the registration number A336 VAF) silver which had the voice synthesiser and digital dash, in the day everyone thought it was cool but if the voice talk annoyed you, there was a volume button to turn it down/off.

  I Owned a Ford Escort xr3i convertable back in the day.. The heated windscreen and electric roof were the main things i remember ..

  The Lotus Esprit Submarine was my favourite.  Sadly never mass produced. Can you imagine driving off the pier saying to the front passenger "can you swim?"

  One spoke steering wheel! Just like on the marvelous Citroen DS! The brits were (secretly) very fond of the DS!

  Honestly the heated windscreen was the best thing in my Focus back in the day.  The ability to heat your car remotely these days is the best thing about new cars.

  The Citroen DS was far ahead of the Rover with bolt on panels, and even the fiberglass roof!<br>The same goes for the engine in the DS, which also was pushed downward in a head on collision. And in the DS the spare wheel was at the front, under the hood, as an extra protection!

  When i was a kid back in the early 80&apos;s we had a Morris Marina. It had faux leather seats that got hotter than the sun during the summer. &nbsp;Stuck in the back seats in solid traffic coming back from a day in Brighton. Baking....busting for a wee........sunburnt.......feeling car-sick. God i miss them days
