  I have an Arnage 6.75ltr. 2001.<br> Also got an XJ8 2000 and a Lexus 300GS. The Lexus is mega reliable. I have owned it for 21 years approaching 200 thousand miles. Still trouble free. In excellent condition. Interior is as new.

  I have a 17 year old Jaguar XF 3.0 turbo diesel. Luxury, and incredibly economical at 40 mpg on motorway. I have owned it for 14 years been almost 100% reliable and my wife loves the comfort and heated seats. Why would I want to sell it for some anonymous SUV full of electronics about to go wrong. But lastly my car has had all its depreciation.

  I have a ford granada scorpio ultama paid £1900 26 years ago still got original exhaust still drives beautiful and I’m share I wold get more for it now

  Sound great but people never seem to learn that an expensive car comes along with expensive &nbsp;parts. Might well be a great engine but its all the parts that make that engine run that will cost you an arm and a leg when they go wrong.

  You are so correct —Audi A6 is a fab car but is also a money pit when it goes wrong —I now have a Lexus NX hybrid for over 4 years and it is fantastic

  You missed One, It has No serpentine belt, No Starter motor, No Alternator and the HVAC A/C is electric, so turns only as fast as needed, even if the motor is off. &nbsp;It has a 3.5L non Turbo Motor that has 20 years of development and runs either Atkinson cycle or Otto Cycle as needed and has direct and port injection, so no Valve crud build up. The motor will last as long as the DOHC VVTI + timing chain., reputed to be 30+ years if oil changes are done under 7000 miles. &nbsp;It has reputation is confirmed by past builds (of No Rattles, no Failures even to the point that a replacement gearbox is unavailable because it will outlive the Vehicle if serviced every 5000miles/ yearly) its brakes will last double a competitor and replacement so cheap it&apos;s a Joke. Parts are widely available as they built over a million of them. &nbsp;It has a NiMH traction battery that Taxis have travelled over a Million Kilometres. In the very last iteration was the peak of build quality. It is rumoured that it might even out live creation..... This extraordinary Vehicle shames all, as it returns motorcycle economy in a large SUV..... It Is<br>the 2001- 2002 Lexus RX 450h or any Hybrid variant that carries its genes. &nbsp;The rest are posers

  Phaeton tdi is an incredible car, I did big miles in mine, BUT the Bosch injectors are the same as the other VAG 3.0tdi engines and are made of toffee - they leak diesel into the cylinders (expensive fix, as you’ll eventually need to replace all of them - there are no reman injectors).<br><br>And the steering racks fail - pipes corrode and swapping the rack is an engine out job (VW data says only an issue in the UK due to salt corrosion).<br><br>There are two huge 12v batteries in the boot - if anything electrical acts up always check these first…

  I have a Range Rover L322 2011 &nbsp;4.4TDv8. Bought for £9500 3 years ago with 124k miles. Now has 152k miles. No major failures, normal service costs at local independent garage, yes VED is £710 per year but overall at 10,000 miles a year this costs be about £4k a year to fully run. My mate’s Tesla is £450pcm just to lease - without turning a wheel. Thats nearly £6k a year- without tyres, VED, electricity, servicing etc. a good old big petrol / diesel luxury barge of this era is a really sensible choice. Can’t see me replacing mine any time

  What U got to remember even if the car was 40 k and now worth 1k Ur still gonna have to pay maximum price for parts unless U go after market and have a good mechanic
