  Without struggle, there is no true long-term learning. Struggle is literally what tells the brain that what you're learning is important. These kids use AI whenever they sense a bit of difficulty, so it makes sense why this is happening.

  Students know that using AI to cheat is wrong, but they don't care and see no reason to care when the grade matters more than the learning.

  just finished arguing with a professor who, for the second time this semester, accused me of using AI on an assignment when I didn't. after explaining my work process the first time, she accepted it and moved on. this latest time however, it was a whole back and forth. it was like she was trying to "catch" me in something that i never even did!! so i made a whole long video of me screen recording my laptop and going through revision/document histories for each document that was part of the assignment/process. she finally accepted that i in fact, did not use ai for the assignment. best part about this whole thing? this is the one professor i have ever had that shamelessly uses ai for everything: grading our stuff, giving responses on work, generating modules and learning objectives for each week. i paid almost $1k usd for a class where the professor is barely doing any work on her own? and then get accused when i know i never used it? gotta love it!!!11!1 /s

  My english teacher had us swap papers with other students so we could give each other constructive criticism and it blew my mind to see how many people my age just do not know how to spell, use proper punctuation, or form coherent arguments. They use ai for literally everything and now when they have to hand write essays they struggle so much because there's no robot to do it for them.

  I'll be honest. I just graduated in May of 2025, and I used AI one time. I asked it to write a 500 word essay, and it was horrific. It was repetitive and some of the facts were inaccurate. I tossed the whole thing out and completed every assignment by myself. There's no way I was going to trust my academic career to a machine that is made to flatter me with gibberish.
