Hey! This video is a mashup of a few of my other videos on the topic! I wanted to make a video that gives an overview of the multiple points I mention in the video! 😊

So if that’s not your vibe, then remember, it’s okay to not watch the video!

For the most part I didn’t send my goons out to force people to watch ◡̈

Parents are part of the problem too. Instead of giving kids a book or reading to them, it's easier to just put on a YouTube video.

Millennials didn't kill cursive. They stopped teaching it. FYI.

i'm in high school right now, and i've been pretty good at reading since 3rd/4th grade, and seeing this much of a change in just a few years is very concerning

Blame the parents. They're the first teachers of these kids. I taught mine well.

I’m a 34 year old college student. As in I went back to college and now I’m with all these young bucks. What I’ve noticed is the boys are doing worse than the girls. The boys can’t even spell a word like “release” they’ll write “relice”it’s tragic. Most of them are like constantly frozen in fear especially when the slightest challenge arises. I’m not that old, I still remember what kids were like when I was one.. this is bad y’all

I know it's difficult, but if your kid is 8 and can't read; it's not the school's fault. It's YOUR fault. Kids learn (practice is what I really mean) to read AT HOME. You have to give them time to read, and if necessary force them (for some short time, not all day).

The books that are being published these days are also absolute slop

The decline in literacy started when they stopped teaching kids how to read phonetically.

I unironically learned a lot of my reading when I was really young from playing the Pokémon tcg and videogames

It’s not the teachers. It’s the administration and No Child Left Behind (along with AI and social media).
