I did a self build. Literally built my home with 90% of the work done by my own hands. With the bank issues, weather, and doing it almost completely by myself, it almost broke me. I don’t think I’d ever have the strength to do it again.

I agree with some of the comments re the quality of the windows. But, I'm not the one who had to spend all my savings and live with the constant threat of the loan money not being released by the bank. So I give a tip of the hat to them for saving those buildings for posterity.

I watched this in 2012 as I was glued to this series. 500k all in with purchase & works is fantastic & no doubt its probably worth well over 1million in todays world. Great investment if you have the balls to do it !

It seems their relationship barely survived poor buggers. This kind of thing is extremely stressful, but they have done an incredible job.
