Watching this in 2026 proves that, whilst fashions change, style is timeless. What an elegantly crafted and furnished transformation. Beautiful.

Amazing is right … it looks absolutely gorgeous! It would be hard for one to envision the state of that building, prior to their restoration journey. Very professional job!

Thanks for sharing all the potential pitfalls, when restoring a grade listed home.

🙏🙌✝️✡️♥️

You and your show is so amazing. I'm an American artist/builder and it's so sad watching old American homes be torn down for modern boring builds and it's so sad and wish we had more laws saving barns and buildings here in the USA

Looking so beautiful. The stone work is excellent. I love that pattern out the back of the kitchen. As I said, the copper work is fabulous. Keep up the great work team :)

Conservation people put restrictions in place, but if people didn't want to restore these buildings they would eventually fall down. Crazy rules.

Where did the wooden thingy go that was gifted to them by the older gentleman? I loved that he remembered the name of the horses!

It's March 2026 as I write, so maybe I'm already too late with this suggestion but, here goes: there is a legitimate argument to campaign for UK legislation covering multi-jurisdiction situations. Not only for building works. All these different powerful organisations should be thinned out and merged where possible, nationwide. And the remaining authorities should be legally obliged to provide a common regulatory requirement for any predictable situation, AND a single-point-of-contact for those who have to work with such regulations. Furthermore, the UK government should fund a free service on the restoration of listed buildings, that helps prepare and guide such projects from beginning to end. If the standpoint is 'you are but a transitional owner, and basically a caretaker of the nation's heritage', then the nation should contribute towards the costs of achieving what the nation demands. That would include the costs of any required archaeological or research work, including financial losses incurred by the 'caretaker' due to any compliance delays. It might just tone down some of the more stupid or onerous requirements and conflicts, and speed up the bureaucracy.
