These are old symbols on buttons. They were used a long time ago, not only by Philips, but also in the Soviet Union on old tape recorders, such as the Vesna 306. So when new imported equipment appeared in Ukraine in the 1990s, we weren’t used to the new symbols and they seemed unfamiliar to us.😄

Quality repair, I love reworking damaged PCB's, it gives a certain amount of pleasure reconstructing traces and seeing the item come back to life,
Dim bulb testing can send you down many a wrong path especially with low power draw components, other than for Reforming capacitors and soft starting components that have been sitting for a while, I tend to use dim bulbs and or a variac on Amps more than any other components because Amps tend to have high current devices in them and make a bigger pop, you will also need different wattage bulbs for different testing scenarios and this will send you down another rabbit warren,

Keep up the good work 👍

I would imagine that the ability to start a song from any spot in the song would be very good for old school video editing. I would have loved that feature.

Your videos are getting more and more in depth. Love the dim bulb tester. Onkyo arrived last night. I'll unpack it this afternoon. Thanks again!

Thank you again for saving my dream player from the landfill. I know it was a long shot given its condition but I am beyond stoked to see it in top working shape. I can't wait to get it back and give it a proper listening session.
