Mark over at The Retro Channel pointed me to this: <a href="https://www.aliexpress.us/item/3256812647753153.html">https://www.aliexpress.us/item/3256812647753153.html</a><br><br>A new version 2 of this console that has: Raised sprite limits, no more VGA (which was broken anyway), looks like FPGA -&gt; HDMI transmitter directly with the VGA DAC in the middle which means no more digital to analog back to digital for HDMI, a new FPGA that&apos;s smaller, analog section looks redesigned and external DIP switches for overclocking and changing resolution. Seems to have addressed all the issues I talked about! Also they ditched the wrong sounding Dendy chip and it looks to come with the NTSC CPU now. <br><br>I clearly bought too early! OUCH!

  One reason why they didn&apos;t increase the sprite limit might be that some games actually rely on it. For example, in Felix the Cat this limit is used to hide the player&apos;s sprite when entering a bag

  The issue with most Chinese electronics - the companies never seem to spend the time and money to get beyond the 95% mark. My last experience -A cool aluminium body ultra lightweight low cost laptop. It worked very well for what it was but only had 64GB of storage. No problem it had a little aluminium door underneath for a 128GB 2030 SSD. Fantastic - more storage and far better performance - except ...... the SSD was powered on all the time, even when the laptop was off!!!! You would put away the laptop fully charged and when you tried to use it several days later it would be dead.

  The retrotink can definitely handle the higher resolutions. The console just outputs a signal that doesn&apos;t follow any of the builtin standard modes (hence Unknown), but you can either add it manually via the timings calc website, or just muck around in the settings while in Unknown mode: 1) do an auto crop to get everything signal-y on the screen, 2) fix up the sampling rate until it&apos;s a proper multiple of the actual line width, 3) manually update the crop as desired

  It never occurred to me that the wrong sound of the Dendy might be what is the most familiar to people who grew up with Famiclones elsewhere in the world. &nbsp;For them the Ricoh chip might sound off, and the Dendy sounds like their childhood.

  Adrian i really like these videos and would like to offer a few cartridge suggestions to help you test units. <br><br>I used to run a classic video game store and would QA different products that vendors were always trying to get us to sell.<br><br>It was my experience that a few games really could test how good one of these clone systems is. If they can run a few of these games.<br><br>You might want to consider adding these few original inexpensive cartridges to your arsenal. For testing.<br><br>Gauntlet by Tengen - won&apos;t run, &nbsp;corrupt<br>Gauntlet 2 by Mindscape i think - corrupt (This game used to run a long time ago but clones systems seemed to have changed years ago and it no longer does)<br>Dragon Warrior 1 - won&apos;t run but a few early carts will<br>Paperboy - runs but the start button is disabled, by the clone, so the game is unplayable<br><br>We would use those carts to see if a unit could play them.<br><br>A few clones could do 1 it 2 but none could do all. <br><br>Just s suggestion since you like benchmark type tools. <br><br>Please keep getting these systems. I really enjoy watching you&apos;re videos overviewing clones.
