  My only response to people who have more than $5 million but think they cannot retire because that's not enough to sustain their lifestyle is this - blow me.

  Thinking of retiring at 60.  Financially I am probably fine, but still nervous about years 60-65.  I need information on how to do these Roth conversions everyone discusses during these years without destroying any shot at ACA subsidies which likely will exceed any tax savings.  Thinking about taking out one large sum the year before I retire and eating the taxes one year and stretching out the money the years till 65, or thinking about HELOC loans to fill any spending gap to get to 65 (assuming 7% interest on the $50k/year I need to fill the gap is much cheaper than the extra $20,000+/year  health insurance  will cost me if I exceed ACA limits).  Seems like every time I "figure out" one issue, it creates another.  Eventually part of my brain says "stop, you will be fine, this attempt to minimize all taxes and maximize all savings is on the path to decrease you happiness at being retired and if you have the money, just assume you won't win (and don't actually need to win) every "tax" battle, but reducing stress has its own value".

  One of the best retirement videos. We are retiring early using these strategies. I thought working past 60 was necessary until we looked at how much time we needed to do Roth conversations.

  Spot on with the financial math, but there’s a massive emotional component missing here. Retiring isn't just about spending down assets; it’s a complete shift in identity. It can also be a shock to a marriage. Being together 24/7 sounds great on paper, but in reality, it forces couples to reinvent how they coexist without the structure and space that work naturally provided for decades.

  Its the $1,500 a month you need for medical insurance ........ you need that 65 age for the free insurance.

  Julia, great video.  I retired at 59.  I accumulated all my life.  House was paid off.  Work wasn’t fun anymore.  I took the leap of faith.  One of THE best decisions of my life.  The other, marrying my wife, Julie.  Love your videos.  Thanks!
