  To be fair, the reason the paranoid is right all the time is in no small part due to the very nature of the princess in the first place. &nbsp;Paranoid may just be the biggest foil to the narrator&apos;s plan in the entire game, on a fundamental level. <br><br> Listening to the Paranoid sort of becomes a self-fulfilling prophecy; if you act on his suspicious, his suspicions MUST have been well-founded.

  I love how he defends the narrator. It also rubs me wrong how so many fans dismiss the anguish the narrator has gone through to the point he sacrificed so much to make the events of the game possible for the one chance of saving the people he loved, or even preventing others from suffering.

  Funny thing is that in Happily Ever After, the narrator literally does see the world he wanted. A world where nothing really changes. That’s why he doesn’t stop you from taking the princess outside. Why he’s remorseful. He saw eternity. He saw a world without death or change or destruction. It’s dull. There is no meaning. Eventually it becomes something worse than death. He even hesitates if you attempt to kill the princess afterwards. The perfect world he envisioned is a hell he could never have imagined. Because he will never see it. It’s my favorite route for the narrator. He didn’t complain. He didn’t comment. He was silent. Solely speaking what was happening. He lost the will to fight for the world he wanted. It’s just beautiful
