  Another great video.  I love the "Chivilrous Paramour" comment.  Ava Gardner in Night of the Iguana, "Honey, if Paramour means what I think it does, you're gambling with your front teeth."

  It is and always will be my all time favorite. I was lucky enough to own a 64 Jade Green GT with half black vinyl top. A car which was shown in Adverts of the day. Motor Trend called these car's "a man's car" which slightly alluded to the Thunderbird as a little girlish. My sentiment agrees. There was excitement around this car, just not enough. As a child my neighbor and babysitter was very excited when her brother bought a new GT. I didn't really know what they were then but she let me know it was special. Brooks Stevens did a "masterful job" as you say. He did a similar restyle of the Willy's Aero in South America which stayed in production into the early 70's. He was also the creator of the 64 Studebaker SS which became the Excalibur series of cars.

  These cars look so good in black and are especially close to me because my mother‘s friend owned one. And I have memories of riding around Cleveland in the backseat sitting up on top of the armrest. No child seat no safety belts.

  The year I was born, Dad bought a 1955 Studebaker Commander Regal 4 door in sun valley yellow and Shasta white with the optional 259 4 barrel, 185 HP automatic transmission.<br><br> Warranty was 4,000 miles and 3 months, the adjustment period was 1,000 miles and one month. &nbsp;Dad still has the owners manual which is how I know the warranty provisions.<br><br> Dad replaced the dual exhaust system twice and repaired rusted out rocker panels twice by 1961 when he traded it for a 1961 Catalina Safari wagon with PS, decor package and roto hydramatic automatic as the only options. &nbsp;We kept the Cat until 1970.<br><br> &nbsp;I agree, too much chrome on the front. &nbsp;Dad found the optional fog light kit for $12, bought them and then felt guilty about spending so much and returned them.

  In 1960 (?) as a teenager, I walked every morning up Indiana Ave. in South Bend on my way to work at Unger Bros. Body shop. &nbsp;I passed another body shop where a T-Bird top was sectioned and put on another Stude. That was the Prototype for the Gran Turismo Hawk!
