  When I was at my lowest/worst, I drank alcohol and tried to make sure I didn’t wake up the next day, I literally didn’t care if I woke up. <br><br>One day while hungover on a way to work, an acquaintance of mine saw me at the corner, after a quick small talk catch up he just looked at me and asked “ are you okay man ?” <br><br>That was the first and only time I felt like someone saw through all of it, saw what was going on. I wasn’t okay, I needed intervention by any means and that’s literally all it took. <br><br>Him seeing the real me helped me find myself back. He wasn’t asking how things were, he was asking if I needed help from a brother, and that’s all it took. <br><br>Twenty years later I bumped into him again at the hardware store, I can say with a healthy smile it felt great to catch up. What a beautiful and brave person just to ask, just a little bit of humanity snapped me out of a death spiral. <br><br>If you see someone spiralling, put your hand on their shoulder, ask them if they are okay. It helps.

  You know, in retrospect, you can always see the gears moving in his mind when he speaks, contemplating not only how to be funny while also being honest, but how what he says might come across. There is a constant awareness of being perceived. That part of it can&apos;t have been easy either.

  As a child I thought he was way too manic, now I understand how he felt; it hurts to be different and try to fit in ✌🏼

  ADHD, anxiety, big mood swings, depression, addiction, hiding that pain, being tough on yourself, never fitting in... Robin Williams I deeply understand your struggle. You gave in and I get that more than most but seeing how much the world has lost from your absence, damn. What a shame.

  He lost his battle with LWD, but he genuinely wanted others to be stronger when even he didn’t know what was happening to himself. Rest in peace Robin - we’ll always remember you.
