  On the note of forbiddance: in Christie Golden&apos;s &apos;Vampire of the Mists&apos;, Strahd is actually able to enter every single home in Barovia on the grounds that he is still the king, and owner of the entire kingdom, and every building in it. that&apos;s how he can just fly over the Vallakian pallisade during the Feast of St Andral&apos;s event in Curse of Strahd

  My own personal interpretation of home has always been &apos;the hearth&apos;, a more pagan understanding of the family&apos;s love for each other and the warmth of the fireplace through the coldest and darkest winters being a spiritual thing sometimes involving protective spirits. Instead of going into rulelawyering and &apos;haha if we think of it like this, vampires could or cannot...&apos;, a vampire cannot enter a home. Not a house or building, a home. <br><br>A vampire, as a foul spirit, could fool a kindhearted child or romanced daughter into letting it into the house. And the vampire can enter without issue a store or abandoned cabin that they chase a victim into. But the main narrative of a house is that a vampire cannot enter it and can merely stalk outside while the family is tight and loving. But when the hearth grows cold; when the family argues or breaks up or the latest son grows greedy, or greed and wealth overtakes the family&apos;s priorities, or only a few mourning remain whilst half have left for the war or the city life, that&apos;s when the vampire can sneak in and begin their nightly terrors.

  Hallow is a 5th Level Cleric&apos;s Spell (24hr casting time) that could protect an area with a 60ft radius from undead willingly entering the area. Forbiddance is a 6th Level Cleric Spell that could be set up in 10 minutes as a Ritual to protect an area of 40,000sq ft. (200x200) for 1 day, and could be set up to do significant damage to the vampire.

  As a note, using older sources like 2e, as a Vampire gets older it begins to become immune to these weaknesses. Where a vampire more than 800 years old is immune to Sunlight, only subject to Forbiddance. Mirrors and Garlic are lost first, then Holy Symbols, then Running Water, then Sunlight (each age category being capable of being in sunlight for longer).<br><br>Edit: Neat! He did cover it, should’ve waited till posting lol…
