As a former breast cancer patient, I fasted the day before and the day on chemo. It completely changed the way my body could handle chemo - it became a breeze instead of a dread. Now after treatment, I implement fasting as alternate day fasting and never felt better

Age 82, and I used to fast up to 5 days.  Now, I don’t do that anymore because there is natural muscle LOSS with aging.  Instead, I am now very protein-centric and I work with weights 3x per week.  I had an incident where someone had to help me out of a folding chair.  It was a moment of truth about how important it is to keep muscle in aging.  I got my strength back after that…but that was a real wake up call. 🦋

It's not longitivity but quality of life, remember healthy man wants thousand things and sick person wants only one.

I fast around 18 hours each day, but don't think of myself as calorie restricted. I think of other people as overfed.

My family started practicing 16:8 fasting nearly 2 years ago. The results showed that all family members had fewer minor illnesses

I would love to see Jessie have a discussion with Dr. Jason Fung. She is the glucose queen and he is the fasting king. They have a lot of overlapping data so I'd be curious to see if there are areas where they disagree

As a college student studying biotechnology abroad, balancing my studies, a recent PCOS diagnosis, gym training, soccer practice, and maintaining a healthy diet, your channel has helped me so much! It has given me a better understanding of my condition and how to sustain my energy to manage the things I love doing. I'm still learning about my body, and as a science girlie, I absolutely love the fact checked information you share!

I've been doing IF for a few years now -- first 16:8, then 18:6, and recently 20:4 and my body feels so much better and my A1C has definitely been more managable. Definitely something that helped me 'reverse' my Type 2 Diabetes (i.e. been a 'normal' A1C since 2019)

As a diabetic I started intermittent fasting a month ago.  The big benefit for me is that it makes me more conscious of what and when I am eating.   A big benefit for this grazing kind of eating person.  I have lost a few pounds... almost 5 and my sugar numbers are much better....and I feel better.
