I recently had blood work done by my doctor. He told me that, for the first time since I have been seeing him (2007) my blood sugar is completely normal! He asked what I was doing. I told him. He said to keep it up, it obviously works. And BTW, my other numbers were great! Cholesterol was off-the-chart great! I started this a year ago. I was close to 300lbs. I am now down to 230lbs. 200lbs is my goal and, thanks to Jessie, I will make it!

My husband and I have been doing this hack for over a year (almost every breakfast lunch and dinner). It's been great! I rarely have sugar crashes any more.

One more thing: There are two types of fiber: soluble and insoluble. It's the soluble fiber that can help reduce the glucose spikes. But I'm not saying insoluble fiber isn't important for your health, tho. Soluble fiber is your pancreas' best friend, for it can prevent glucose spikes; while insoluble fiber is your gut's best friend, cause it helps you digest food.

Soluble fiber can be found in: oats, peas, beans, chickpeas, bananas, and raw carrots...

Another thing: Soluble fiber can also help reduce the glucose spike of your next meal as well. Like, eating a veggie starter during breakfast can also reduce the glucose spike of your lunch, this is called the "second-meal effect".

Interesting, growing up we always started our meal with a small salad and then proceeded to ghe main meal. No desserts.

When I lived in Italy, we started our main meal with a large salad. This was always followed by pasta and then meat or fish, with lots of bread and wine. All the Italians I came across were slim despite eating large amounts of pasta and bread.
