The biggest sin was the second—not because of my own ambition, but due to tester feedback. My initial game was a 2D platformer focused on wall-jumping and precision jumps where a single hit meant death; that was all it was supposed to be. When I asked streamers to test the game, I ended up adding the following features because they felt the game needed them to be funnier:

1. Enemies.
2. Secret rooms.
3. Collectibles.
4. Skins.
5. A timer.
6. Bosses.
7. More enemies.
8. Achievements.

I added everything, and honestly, they—and I—enjoyed it more. However, the project became so massive that constant modifications and re-modifications were required; that’s when it spiraled out of control, and I had to put it on indefinite hold.

I feel like your "Lust" is just a repeat of "Sloth." I think a more relatable "Lust" we indie game devs have is much earlier than you described, where we think of an entirely different game and are tempted to "divorce" our current game because of how sexy the new game idea seems.

I love how most of these were the exact same thing. If you can't find 7 different "sins" you don't have to

I love how these are in order of the start to the end of a project. Also, I think the first one would be more fitting as sloth (a lot of these, when I think about it). Good vid 👍

    6. Gluttony - sounds like the concept in writing "kill your darlings". If you're a creator, you have lots of good ideas, and it's very tempting to want to use all of them. It takes discipline to discard or delegate to later projects.

My biggest sin in game development is that I am killing it...not really - but maybe one day.

Redoing assets while other areas are waiting (repeated and rephrased for a Christianity motif)
2. Scope (repeated and rephrased for a Christianity motif)
1. Not sloughing through the boring parts at the end of development
