One thing I've noticed is that it's almost impossible to tell if a particular idea is good or bad without implementing it.

Love that I found this video. The "wanting to make a successful game" idea really resonates with me and maybe I'll try to make some silly games for a game jam some time. Thanks!

Your video really hit home for me. I’ve struggled with a lot of the same things you talked about—questioning ideas, losing motivation, perfectionism, and sometimes forgetting that making games is supposed to be fun.

About six months ago, I finally decided to buckle down and make the game I’d dreamed about making. I’m a plumber with no professional game-dev background, and I’ve spent a few hours almost every day building Dungeon Crawl 94: What Was Taken in GameMaker. It’s finally releasing September 30th.

Finishing it has been a dream come true, but it’s also taught me how mentally exhausting game development can become when a hobby starts feeling like a job. After release, I’m taking a much-needed break and getting back to simply enjoying games again. Your video was a good reminder that the enjoyment of creating matters too. Thanks for sharing this.

This is really impressive output man! Good job. You can totally see how you are getting better and better. Hot Tub Soup honestly looks like a game worth spending 3/4 months on to make a releasable Steam-version game out of. It'd translate really well to a desktop idle type of game. Having a bad turnip dance around your desktop, lol, it would work man. Put'em in the soup!
