hey there - working one the same deck - you dont need to desolder anything - just remove the small sensor board - remove the two motor screws - remove the one small screw which holds the circuit board - gently pull the switches up - they come out with a small plastic part. done - feel free to change the belts...cheers

I liked Kenwood as a brand in 90s not highend stuff but was affordable and had the features you required.

2 best decks i ever owned were a single Sony with Dolby b,c,and s was a great deck and a Kenwood double deck, it was very nice could record in both A and B decks, had rotating heads to switch to the other side of the tape, was a great deck, i sold the whole system in the early 90's.

Another good video. Thanks
Nice deck but not at the level of the kx1100/kx9010. There was also a kx4520 which I thought was better.
But they are not top. 😉

This week i bought and fix my 3rd KX-7030. Not easy to work but very good sounding decks. But i cannot figure out how to take out the phones board. Is there a trick? I am afraid of something will break.
