  Interestingly, the deck makes the same strange sounds by its running (start play, star rewind, set autoreverse...) like my very good and high-level Grundig Fine Arts hifi system from 90`s  (I have it with the deck CCF3) - so I asked the AI, if the Tascam has taken the deck mechanics form Grundig (which was a very renowned tape-deck manufacurer of that era) or or was it in opposite way - and AI said me, that both manufacturers had the deck mechanics from ALPS - ALPS then made very solid and very-long-life deck mechanics and both, Tascam and Grundig bought his very solid and durable deck mechanics form ALPS 🙂

  It is a bit of a myth that &quot;professional&quot; gear is any better than ordinary hifi components - they&apos;re built to withstand abuse, but not to sound all that great, and the actual bits inside are generally just cheap stuff. TEAC gear of this era was made by the same bargain basement OEM as was building Cambridge Audio stuff (Yanion), not known for build quality.<br><br>The reason it&apos;s a rats nest inside is because it&apos;s pretty much two discrete components in one box.<br><br>If we can arrange for you to send me your address I can burn some YouTube music for you onto a CDR.

  Thanks for the video, I would love this thing. Want to get rid of my cd changer, and this would not only do that but allow me to get rid of my duel cassette deck as I will probably never record any mix tapes...lol

  We had these in the dance studios in our University. &nbsp;Pitch control might have been useful? &nbsp;They&apos;d fit in the &apos;lecturn&apos; cupboard with a PC / Amp / wireless mic controller. &nbsp;So having 2 devices in one helped keep the space usage down.

  Definitely dates itself recording to tape from cd, and not the other way around with blank discs and re-writables. I have a machine that I used to transfer all my tapes to cd to mp3 files. Well worth the effort as so many tapes are getting old enough to crap out. A Pioneer PDR - 509, in case you are curious. I watch channels like this all the time. First time the algorithm has suggested one. I have even watched videos on similar machines. Techmoan and VWestlife come to mind, so there is no rhyme or reason why it does what it does. &nbsp;I have subscriptions where I was not interested in a couple of their offerings, and have not seen them as suggestions in six months. I am still subscribed, but it decided I was not interested anymore I guess. Cheers!
