Best poaching video I've ever seen, and I've seen quite a few!

Update after playing 2 doubles matches since I watched this video all I can say is THANK YOU AGAIN. wow i could not believe how I got to some of those balls I would think man maybe I should have gone. I was playing cat and mouse in these games. Won all 6 sets with 6 different partners. Everyone said they had not seen me play that aggressive at the net. I baited them a few times too. Cool stuff!

I experience this all the time. I get beat down the line and I am happy! I say "great shot." But I then have the petson on the hook - they are watching me too much. Of course, my partner will most likely say that I gotta watch that line - I ignore him. What you don't mention is to save some of these moves (fake poach, double fake) for important points, like ad in. I have actually had partners who, after we have won a game, tell me that I poached too much and need to "watch the line." But we won and they are complaining. I do not disagree with them or say anything about what I was doing because next time they may be my opponent.

The audience also plays a role in that feeling of shame, they see a beating down the line as a huge point.

Great Video. I play mostly doubles best day a 4.0 player, I am known in the group as the biggest Pest. I learned more from this, love it. My wife plays league tennis at 3.5 I told her to be more aggressive at the net, most of the gals at her level are not ripping shots down the line. She is finally doing it and coming up to close when she used to be just a baseline player worried so much about lobs. Great stuff, when I show her this today she will now believe a pro vs just her hubby! Thanks again.

Truly a great video! Ian truly has a winning doubles mentality. When the skill levels are very close, this kinda stuff it what swings the pendulum to the win.

I feel like you just gave me a new weapon, now that you taught me this critical detail in timing the move. Also how, as the net player, to make yourself a big concern in the mind of the baseline opponent.

I use to get bored whenever it was my partner’s turn to serve because I didn’t realize what my role was as a net player. I really think the net players on BOTH SIDES of the net have to be the most physically active with all the position shifting that should be taking place. 🤷

This video immediately improved my doubles net game. I can't say that about any other single video.
