I am watching this at 16, and I am so glad I don’t play video games anymore.
Gave them up last year, to do anything productive.

I am watching this in tears as I have 3 boys addicted to games, and it’s so hard to admit - first time I actually see and say this.
I must tackle this NOW as they are 9 and 10 years old. Please pray for us.
Thank you so much, and God bless.

In order to be able to discipline children, it takes both mom and dad for it to work.

We introduced my 16 month old to slower cartoons ie. Oswald, Franklin an friends, little bear, and Daniel tigers neighborhood for about 1-2 hours/day. He became obsessed and asked for cartoons many times throughout the day. When the answer was no, he had an unseen before meltdown. Thankfully we recognized the behavioral issues (only after 8months) and slowly stopped cartoons then eventually packed the tv and stored it in the garage. The TV is still in the garage. He's 2 1/2 now and life and his behavior are more manageable

I just want every parent here to know that your kids can survive in this world without video games, phones, and constant screen time, but you actually have to parent! We homeschooled, but my oldest son attended public school for one year and I had to go to the school and tell them he could not have a laptop and they needed to give him ways to submit his homework without using a screen. It's your right as a parent. My son's roommate in college had to teach him how to play video games and thankfully, by that time, his brain had developed enough that he found it to be pretty boring. I have raised my kids without phones and with 2 hours max of screen time a day, which is mostly in the form of family movie nights/ old TV shows. It is not the answer to everything--we have had kids with behavior issues like everyone else. I just want to encourage you that your kids need to hear the word, "no," and that in a world that tells you your kids won't be okay, or you have no choice, don't believe the lies.

This is so real. My ex boyfriend dropped out of college because of a video game addiction. Unfortunately he never got the help he needed to address why he felt he needed the games, so his addiction moved onto other screen related things. He even got into car accidents because he would play games on his phone. I pray he finds help for this tough, and not talked about enough, addiction

"all things all lawful, but not all things are profitable, all things are lawful but I will not be mastered by any." I grew up with games. And while some can be addictive, you have to choose to play games that can be enjoyed without becoming addicted. Also, play games that have a set ending. This allows you to complete and move on to something else. "Each person needs to know how to possess his own vessel in sanctification and honor." If you know Adam is an addictive person, then he needs to have limited interaction. My oldest definitely leans towards that, but I communicate with him and play games with him. My other 2 are less inclined to addiction as well. This book and ideas are great as a bird shot, get as many people to understand as possible. But isn't the same for everyone

In a plain language..... games are Spiritual, I mean there are evil spirits behind most games.
What you worship will take ownership of your mind.

With the video games it is difficult to have many conversations with youth and children

My daughter was never really interested in tv like that. She just now started watching it and she's almost 2.5. She only watches a lesson in the morning for letters/words or counting sometimes a bible show for kids or a show that is low stimulating only then it goes off. If i see she isnt watching that lesson at that time I turn it off immediately. Even if I am tired wont place her in front of a tv to get space. She plays with her toys throughout the day. I get toys that I know will interest her and also help with her development. There are days where she doesnt watch tv at all. She has no iPad tablet I dont allow her to play with phones etc. I also try not to put the tv on when she eats as well. Studies have proven how so much screen time ruins children's brain and development. My daughter also has never been to a daycare and with me since birth. Even as a single mom its the best decision Ive ever made.
