  I have used a Palomar knot for years and I've never had a failure. Line breaks, yes, but never a knot failure.

  Thanks for all the tips extremely helpful! I noticed in the background theirs a military shadow box in the background. My father also served . He spent 22 years in the Army starting in 1948 with combat engineers as a demolition specialist. In the early 60's he made the cut in Army special forces green beret. He did 4 tours to Vietnam with the 1st group then transitioning to the 5th group. He passed away 10 years ago. I credit all my hunting and fishing obsessions to him.

  I  use an offset worm hook.  You're tying a double pitzen. While twisting the loop instead of the tag. You can also try a bobber stop 8- 12 inches above your hook.

  That’s not a double uni,  that’s an incorrectly tied double San Diego jam knot.  Double uni is used to connect two lines together.

  I have a fishing buddy who I consider the best bass fisherman I know.  He always used straight hooks without pegging the sinker and caught more bass than anyone else.

  Morning Randy funny you speak about how to rig Texas rig. When I fished years ago- disabled now and hardly get out, I used to used that very same thing and always had toothpicks and everyone thought I was insane but always hooked more and used same hook to keep more in line with bait. Thanks for after 40y someone actually speaks about it. From Mn
