  In clear summer water I've used smaller black Panther Martin for Rainbows and Char as well as black corkies 10mm for King salmon, silvers &Steelhead in Washington State.

  Y go to spinner bait is called panther martin, it vibrates like a mother ! Even on the slowest retrieve it'll still bend and shake the rod hard ! And it's the way that they make it !

  Over the years, I have found with spinners if you tie red wool on the hook like a tail that works Good.

  Almost every spinner worked for me. Even when I had towed it behind from a motor boat. Of course the top surface was working for me. Then a plastic bait with treble hooks that I was casting in heavy under growth had surprised me on the slow retrieve. Made me think I was snagged. So if there are a variety of fish in the fishing zone you will get one to strike.

  And leaders do not spook bass, walleye or perch, and I've even caught brook n speckled trout using leaders but using the right coloured and type of leader makes a huge difference also

  And hate to be a brand ambassador but panther martins have a multiple extreme slow speed up to a high speed spin rate regardless of retrieve speed even hand lines the blade always always spins !

  I live lakefront, my first cast is always a Mepps spinner, then I toss a plastic worm.....then I go back inside and come back later.

  In 2hrs, I will be fishing for walleye on Lake Erie. &nbsp;Gonna be using single hook and weight forward spinners tipped with &nbsp;night crawlers.<br>Hope to catch a lot of walleye!
