Actually, the round trip took 25 years.  But because of the Special Theory of Relativity, the elapsed time experienced by Grace and the probes for the round trip is only about 10 years.  But on Earth, 25 years will have gone by since the launch when they receive the probes.

Hearing Rocky’s voice on the news show, at the beginning of the movie, always warms my heart, now that I’ve seen it. I love how they did that.

That scene where Sandra Huller sings sign of the times wasn't originally scripted. Ryan heard her singing to herself between takes and they got the rights in less than 24 hours to put it in the movie. It works so well so show how complicated of a character she is. It definitely humanized her character a little more

When Rocky says "Rocky can't forget" he was actually being literal. Eridian brains are basically crystalline computers, so obmmce they experience or learn something, the memory is permanent. Its also what allows Rocky to do complex equations in seconds and get the basics of human language before they started using the translator

The barrier that Rocky built when Grace first went to his ship was made of sections of different materials to test which one(s) humans could communicate best through. Rocky then changed to barrier to fully transparent the next time Grace was one because that's the section he favored

I really hope this movie helps motivate producers to invest in projects that aren't superhero movies

I love this movie. If you were to tell me there would be a scene where an alien spider monster drags the human into the darkness, and that you'd be worried about the alien's wellbeing, I wouldn't think I'd believe you...

To quote Mr. Spock. Logic clearly dictates that the needs of the many outweigh the needs of the few or the one
