I find it strange that when you blame Tuco, you completely forget that Blondie betrayed him first and left him in the desert.

I would imagine Tuco would re-bury his share of the gold in the grave (keeping a little of it out to keep in his pocket) and then go find, buy, or steal a horse and then return for the gold.

Tuco usually wins most people over by the end due to his determination and grit. Maybe even his quirky humor and sense of survival. Lee Van Clef is also in Escape from New York. And the music from the cemetery when Tuco is running around looking for the grave is called the Ecstasy of Gold.

1968, "once upon a time in the west", one of the best movie ever, still by Sergio Leone: best cinematography, music (still Morricone) , editing, acting....and so so so emotional....You can't miss this chef d'oeuvre. Even Kubrick called him because he wanted Leone to explain some technic stuff

Ennio Morricone was one of the best and most prolific soundtrack composers ever, tons of amazing scores across lots of genres. He's probably most famous for his spaghetti western work, but stuff like the Untouchables, the Thing, and The Mission are also amazing. Here's a more obscure personal favorite-- La Lucertola, the theme from A Lizard in a Woman's Skin.

Lee Van Cleef had a very long career dating back to the early 50s. One film that I liked him that you should check out was "Kansas City Confidential" (1952) An excellent Film Noir classic also starring John Payne and Colleen Gray
