This movie is actually based on William Shakespeare’s play 'Twelfth Night' with all the characters retaining their original names.

1:06:51 I think the script handled this better than what you give it credit for. Just because she was really good in her league, doesn't mean she was at a level to be first string in an overall better, tougher team in the men's league which will usually have more intense drills. Imo it's more realistic that she isn't automatically the best player on the team and immediately can make first string, but they showed she is still talented enough to get there just by putting in some work and having someone to work with that isn't underestimating her cause she's a girl.

Guys, I recommend Channing Tatum again in White House Down (Jamie Foxx). Badass movie of them to enjoy 😉.

I remember Amanda Bynes since her Nickelodeon days as well as films like this. I know she has had some personal hangups in her life but I sincerely hope she's doing better these days.

I love the fact that Bynes is the one who really pushed for Tatum to be the male lead in the movie despite the fact that he was an unknown at the time

Viola always was good at soccer. But it's all relative. When she tried out for the boys team at Illyria, the competition was better than what she faced before then (having played pickup on the beach and for the girls team at Cornwall). She was still good enough to make the team, but not to make the starting lineup, which is what she wanted. That's why she worked with Duke, and she then became good enough to start. Every athlete has at some point in their career thought they were the best until they faced much better competition than they're used to. The good ones use it as an opportunity to motivate themselves to improve.

26:38 you know what? Bynes and the actor playing Sebastian actually do resemble each other at a distance when she's dressed as him. Good casting! There's some suspension of disbelief required for the closeups, but it's impressive that they made this as plausible as they did in some ways.

34:56 the way Channing Tatum flips open that cell phone & the face he makes is why I named my dog Duke 😂
