Im the first and ONLY woman in my family who lifts heavy weights. None of my family do any exercise at all, my kids do (have 4) and they see me doing 10kg bicep curls and are in awe of my strength. They tell their friends to look at my muscles 😂. My mum always comments on my butt, arms and legs at how toned they are and Im like well I've worked really hard for years so I should hope so! Honestly its been the best investment I've ever made on myself, Im 43 and can do so much more than my peers, have no real health issues and look/feel amazing (apart from perimenopause 😅). I'll never quit strength training, its saved me from some big emotional and mental challenges in my life ❤

I'm 72 and started working out with weights when I was 27 in 1981! I definately was an anomaly 😊 I used to go to gyms where there were mostly men but after a few curious looks, I was accepted. I worked out through my pregnancies (with adaptions, naturally). I had to take time off for life events but I always got back to it. I'm a grandmother now with adult grandchildren and they're all into working out with heavy weights!

Look up Caroline Girvan , the Iron Series here on YouTube. It is completely free, 30 day program that I have been doing for 3 years now. You start with lower weights, learn the techniques and as you repeat the program, you’ll be able to progressively increase the weights. I am 47 and had tried weight lifting before but this really made me start loving it and I am stronger than my 20 year old self. Highly recommended!

I’m 57 and wanted to body build when I was younger but my mom said no because it was too masculine. I started CrossFit at 42 and it was the most empowering thing I could have done.

I loved the firm workouts! I still have my “wave” program….. it’s just fun! But lifting heavier weights has helped me really feel so much stronger!

I still have The Firm Workout with the step and the bar. It was my favorite.

I guess I'm lucky to come from generations of female weight lifters. Grandma, my mom and myself. Didn't know most did not do this, hope that changes.

I much prefer working out alone in the gym. But prefer cycling with a good friend.

I still have the Firm program and stepper and still use it. I love it!
