  We visited Japan for 2 weeks in 2019 and I fell in love with their bathrooms (we stayed in hotels). &nbsp;When a 2022 house flood “allowed” us to remodel our primary bath (which I had been dreaming of), we totally reconfigured our space and went from a tiny corner shower (no tub) to a 7’x8’ enclosed wet room with a small but adequate zero-entry shower (for aging in place) and 60” under mount soak tub, and a slightly smaller but perfectly fine 2 sink vanity in a different location. &nbsp;We also added a heated towel bar and a bidet seat to a regular toilet (with the addition of an electrical plug during the remodel - we had a non-electrical bidet prior to the remodel which was good but the electrical with all the bells and whistles is better!). &nbsp;We LOVE everything about our bathroom now and it is not in a super large space - approximately 150 sq ft.

  I&apos;m a military wife.. we lived in temporary housing<br>until we came up on the permanent housing list, on base.<br>The temporary quarters had 2 separate toilet and bathtub closets, &quot;water closets&quot;.<br>The bathtub, which was very deep, took half an hr to fill up only half way !!!<br>The toilet and wash basin were in the next room.<br>Very smart design design !!

  First thing first, no, micro water bubbles do not get inside your pores. 🤣 But it does reduce water consumption and may filter water which is never a bad thing.<br>Second, in Japan, tubs are usually taken with the whole family, not individually one after the other. So, I&apos;m not sure you guys in the US are ready for this... 😅 <br>That being said, in Europe we also separate toilets from vanity and shover.<br>Last, you may adapt your existing toilets and add some japanese capabilities to it.

  I love that bidet toilets with warm air dryers are now as little as $500, but they do plug into an outlet which seems to be a problem for a wetroom style bathroom where shower spray might hit the outlet and trip the GFCI outlet or breaker. &nbsp;And the toilets have short power cords, so routing through the wall inside conduit to a dry area might take careful planning and toilet selection. &nbsp;They also NEED power to flush because they pump the water around and have no tank, so battery backup or no flushing in power outages. &nbsp;I&apos;m also torn between a deep Ofuro soaking tub and a similar but jetted one-person walk-in tub with seat and chest-deep water. &nbsp;The &quot;problem&quot; with a wal-in tub seems to be not filling it until you are in it, which seems slow.

  My house is really old, so it&apos;s not exactly up-to-date on design principles. I&apos;d love a wet room bathroom design. Would really help with mold and water escaping where it&apos;s supposed to be and going down into the foundation.

  I saw in a Dutch (I think) home where the whole bathroom was a wet room. They mopped the floors and squeegee&apos;d the floor cleaner and mop water right down the shower drain. Then you just rinse and let dry. I also love the idea of a wall mount toilet. Not that it&apos;s an issue for me but is there a weight limit?
