  My tile bathroom and shower is 54 years old, it’s amazingly perfect still, dated but perfectly tiled. They knew what they were doing in the 1970’s

  I once made a mistake, I bought a vanity unit with drawers on the front and a washbowl integrated into it as part of a new bathroom. The water ran down the front onto the drawers and I had to wipe it before cleaning my teeth each time if I had washed my hands and face first. The water also dripped down the sides onto the floor each time I turned the taps off with wet hands. When I sold the house everyone admired it as a modern feature, it was a selling point but I was glad to say goodbye to it.

  We have a bathroom.  It has a toilet, sink, tub/shower.   We've had it for 55 yrs of marriage, five sons, numerous relatives living with us, and 18 grandchildren.   And it's the only bathroom in the house.    No complaints----we're fortunate to have a home with plumbing that works.   All these remodels are to make money for home improvement "gurus" and plumbing supply stores.   You know, in a pinch, a bucket also works just fine as long as you empty it................................

  I love my wall mount toilets. My house is 1968 and had back to back American Standard toilets. We finally replaced the turquoise one ourselves and the other one we replaced 15 years ago. The old ones used 7 gallons of water per flush.

  Many people can't make their shower bigger because they dont have the space. Obviously, most people would want a bigger bathroom, but many can't.

  That tub with the drain in the center of the tub is a literal pain in the bottom. I love to take baths, but to get comfortable, I inevitably land on the plug of that drain, then panic as the water drains. I cannot feel comfortable in that tub - and that design is becoming too popular!

  My new home, completed in late 2024, had the exact issue for the shower fall, I did not have a say in it, though, the developer said it's not an issue when I raised it. Anyway, I am stuck in thinking should I get it redo, but it's so new... (currently using a silicone broom to scrape the water to the drain so the shower floor and dry off.)

  The one for me is the tile expansion joints. I have noted this down to check with the tiler. Bathroom renovations starting in 2 months.

  when I was renovating my shower room, I asked the builder if it would be possible to move the toilet... he gave me a look like I was asking him to join the impossible mission team, it was a non-starter from the beginning.
