Finally someone talking about a shower pan. I love them. So easy to clean and they do not leak.

Attempted my whole life, still I can't do bathroom cleaning. Always had to resort to cleaning crews who'd charge 3 digits for 20-30 minutes of work.
Have architect and designer friends and seniors. Got to see their projects, nice advices and found these things:
1. Floors: Ceramic or polished tiles are slippery no matter what size it is. Wood/generic epoxy is a no no. Concrete is, concrete, have to maintain. Specific mosaics are okay but Stone slates, rough textures are the best ones. But they all are porous so sealers are needed to be applied. Expensive but worth it, grippy, you'd feel safe even if you're drunk af although power washing will make the sealer wear off, light jet is okay. But the absolute best would be textured porcelain or quartz epoxy with high grip. They can withstand power wash.
2. Power wash tool. Best tool to clean the floor. Mopping is nauseating let alone laborious.
3. Larger and Grater with catchers. Never cheap out on graters. Installing more than one of them, reduces maintenance frequency.
4. Shower Glass: Useless Western Design just like French tub in bedroom. Why would anybody need a compartment in bath but not in Toilet?
5. Toilet: Never cheap out. Use bidet systems/ nozzle (wearing shoes in house is already dirty enough, using just tissues makes the person one of the dirtiest people in the world). The ones with self cleaning and has dedicated sanitizing reservoir to put the cleaning liquids. Smart toilets are scam btw.
5. Ventilation: Exhaust fans are best and it's imperative to watch out for where the air goes out. As the bathrooms are smaller and can get humid, better have two airflow system. Fresh air and reduced negative air pressure is something one wouldn't feel the benefit of, before they start noticing. After that, their appreciation will be immense.
6. Carpets: Never. Matts: Never. Electric Ports: Have protective cases. Lights: Use the ones that don't get hot (they can burst).
7. Tubs: Either pipeless ones or the simplest one with no jets. Nothing in between will bring value and convenience altogether.

Experience with jet tubs: The best ones are clunky, great jets at so many angles and the do massage, but wouldn't want it for home just for the sheer amount of maintenance. Sampled Pipeless ones from whirlpool and they are tad bit buyer's remorse. You can remove the jets and cases and wash them, also the housing. Great for maintenance but they are buzzy and noisy. So far, haven't found any that's best at everything.

I had a 30 year-old bathroom ripped out and now have a groutless shower and a shower pan and llove it. Also no washbasin on a washstand but the sink covers the whole top, so easy to clean. And a rimless Japanese toilet making an extra bidet obsolete. I had 23 years to think about what I wanted from a bathroom and saved up for it for 5 years.

My parents are renovating the house I'm going to rent from them. They think I'm crazy for saying I hate glass showers. I refuse to squeegee after every shower. I know I wont do it so why even put that in 😭

Almost finished with 2 bathroom remodels. Wish I had found you sooner. We have made several good choices, but I'm having some regrets now! The lighter flooring is definitely one of them. I also wished we have done more research on the tub. Ours collects so much dirt. I never had to clean the tub as I do now!

8:52 QUIT TAKING BAD ABOUT JACUZZIS!!! After each bath, point the jets in the downward position so the lines drain. Once a month, or more frequently if you like, add two cups of bleach ( or 5% acidity white distilled vinegar) into a filled tub and run it for 20 minutes. Easy to clean! Great for arthritic bodies as you get older!!!

What I don't like: when you have an inset shelf added in your shower for your various bottles, and the shelf is this teeny thing in a large bathroom. I know those are usually between joists but a good tiler knows how to work around that, or just build two of them. Even the shelf in your video is small in a large area.
