I honestly get the heavy Sunburst vibe from Luster? like they're both pretty introverted academics😭I think that him actually having a kid and expanding to having a family shows a lot of character growth--then only to see his daughter becoming too studious like him and them navigating it, I feel like that would be a cool episode! Also would explain the Spike plot-hole--so imo I def could see Luster and Sunburst being related! (Also the sun cutie marks), either way, great vid!

I think that Luster Dawns parents are most likely Sunburst and a random Crystal Pony if not Starlight. My reasoning for saying a random crystal pony is bc if you look at luster she has ombré in her mane. The only other ponies i’ve ever really seen with hombre manes similar to that are Crystal ponies. Also, her and sunburst have very similar color schemes and also cutie marks. I don’t doubt that Sunburst is her dad but i don’t know about who i think her mom is

I think Sunburst could still be the father.

Sunburst barely left his home in the Crystal Empire or spoke to other ponies when he and Starlight reunite.

Who's to say Luster Dawn isn't exactly like her dad and that's why Spike barely knows her, because she stayed in and studied.

It might also be why she's Twilight's chosen protege, because she was like Twilight at the start, was turning into her dad Sunburst and would eventually become like her friend Moondancer.

What about Cutie Mark? The show has proven that in most ponies there Cutie Mark can be inherited, or at least part of it, like Apple Bloom, whose Cutie Mark is supposed to symbolize helping others, but it contains an apple, or like Twilight and her brother, who share a star. This could be useful in identifying parents, right?
Oh, and also, as we noticed, when Starlight tampered with time, the Cutie Mark of the six ponies did not change, despite the different circumstances and the lack of the main reason that led to their appearance.
Which proves once again that Cutie Mark can be genetically inherited

"What about Sunset Shimmer? Or Moon Dancer as candidates? Also we've seen some ponies inherit grandparents traits too!"

"Everyponies ideas are so interesting!"

tbh I feel like it would be logical for most ponies to know li'l cheese, pinkie is known to throw parties and it would make sense for her to frequently throw big birthday parties for li'l cheese
on the other hand starlight probably wouldn't throw parties that big and if there was a party the attendees would most likely only be luster dawn's family and friends

Based on Luster having a similar RGB red to sunburst, and in another video, that cutiemarks can be somewhat genetic, and a sibling can have a similar cutiemark in their family. I think the best possibility is that Luster is related to Sunburst, but not as his daughter. Perhaps a younger sister or even a cousin. It would explain her high RGB red and a similar sun cutie mark that Sunburst has without her being directly related to him, and explain why, upon seeing her, he doesn't interact the way a parent would. It also explains why Spike wouldn't be too familiar with her. If Sunburst had a younger sister or cousin that wasn't shown in earlier seasons but took place in the time skip, it could account for that plothole and still explain why she somewhat resembles Sunburst or seems related to him. After all, Pinkie Pie and Applejack are very distant cousins. It could simply be that she is a relative of Sunburst rather than his daughter. As that has happened in the show before.
