  Hey Leo, as one of your "slightly older" subscribers, I can tell you that when this happened, the news told us just like it was mentioned in this series that IF the Russians didn't get it under control soon that there would be so much radiation released that "MOST OF EUROPE" would have to be evacuated and no one could live there for about a thousand years AND the the cancer rates for the world's population would at least double for hundreds of years. It was no BS terrifying and as you said, most younger people (under 30) know nothing about this. Can we imagine a world where about 200 million people had to abandon their homes forever? As covered many times, people argue about how accurate this series is but the point is that it was not fiction. The world dodged a bullet because of the efforts of so many brave men and women who's names should be known by every man woman and child on earth.

  Nataliia, the widow of the first Chernobyl victim Valery Ilyich Khodemchuk, died two months ago after her apartment building (the same one she lived in since the disaster) in Kyiv was struck by a Russian missile or drone. She survived all the radiation, losing the love of her life, just to be killed in her own home.

  Just for your information: The 3 guys who went into the flooded tunnels had in reality NO secondary hand-crank flashlights.<br>From the moment their lamps died they moved through the tunnels in complete darkness. only with their knowledge of the facility layout and got the job done.<br>The secondary flashlights were just for the TV show so the audience could see something.

  1. Dyatlov was a professional in his field, a difficult person, but a professional, and he did everything that was necessary in the event of an emergency. From the height of his experience, he was confident that there was an emergency shutdown button (since the reactors had never exploded before). His work experience was 40 years, if I remember correctly. <br>2. Those station workers who understood what had happened and evacuated in the first hours carried hot particles with very high radiation levels in their cars. <br>3. When the flashlights went out in the scene with the 3 volunteers, it wasn&apos;t because the flashlights were bad, but because of the high radiation. They all survived.

They wouldn’t be able to use the excuses of “oh you’re just reading the device wrong!”<br>“your machine must be broken!”
