Sly Flourish really knocked it out of the park with his Lazy DM method, seeing his latest book referred to in so many videos since it came out makes it feel like it's going to be looked back on in the same way we all look back at "Jaquaying the Dungeon". The Strong Start method has been used for every single session I've run since learning about it. Thanks for the vid!

I appreciate the correct use of "stalactite" vs. "stalagmite". You're my kind of nerd.

Stephanie, you're my favorite "new" D&D YouTuber. Even if some of the information you present isn't 100% new, you have such a unique voice/point of view. It's refreshing and awesome, thank you for having the confidence to put yourself out there!

The points you mentioned starting around 3:05 were music to my ears; I’ve encountered numerous DMs who do little more than single-mindedly accentuate the majesty of their setting, and consider it selfish when players find it hard to acknowledge how much work they put in. I love how you outlined some fundamental leadership soft skills of DMing 👍

Finally I found a video that talked Prep and showed how the process actually is done and I am so grateful for that!! :')

I do very similar! This is great advise, when i started doing it, it really changed how the player interacted with things and i had far more fun.

I'm a big fan of this method!!! I love your use of the term "decentralized", that's really succinct.

The way I started my campaign was the anti magic gestapo/inquisition had instigated a riot of zelots in a large city and tow of the PCs were in a basement as chaos happened outside and there was a small group of women and children and elderly one of the PCs noticed one of the children had glowing eyes (low magic setting) they immediately had to choose as they new if they tried to hide the child everyone would be found complicit and executed or they could offer up the child to spare everyone and they new the ones were banging on the door are mid level paladins and fighters they were level one they were not expecting such a start! Rest of the session involved navigating the streets to escape and it worked really well!
