E pensare che qualcuno mette ancora in dubbio la supremazia della cucina italiana... evidentemente non hai mai visto preparare né avranno mai assaggio capolavori culinari come questa cassata.

I went to culinary school for 2 years. I cook & bake my family all sorts of delights. I will NEVER be able to come close to this absolute heavenly dessert. Whatever the calorie count, cost, airfare to get to Rome➡️Palermo,Sicily… it’s ABSOLUTELY worth it. We have not been (yet!). We have traveled to Rome, Florence, Positano, Amalfi & Pompeii. In Amalfi, we had the 🍋 lemon 🍰 cake from La Pansa. Similar in that it is also a regional labor of love dessert. It was everything. I can’t imagine how this dessert would taste. If I close my eyes, I can still smell the salty-citrusy mediterranean air, feel the warmth of the sun ☀️ on my face, feel the cobblestones beneath my 🦶🏼 feet & the roughness of my husband’s hand in mine as I am dragging him to see the next church/ancient site as he pretends to not love every single minute of it 🥹🥹🥹

Through DNA, I found out I only have 10% Italian, but I love everything about Italy, just name it. This is a piece of art and so delicious. Pistachios have so many good nutrients, I am going to try to make this cassata; I am sure it will take some time to make.
