  If I could get my hands on one of the F1 3.5l dual plug headed V8 OMC's I would be in Heaven. The last time I seen one go up for sale a few years ago they wanted almost $30,000 for it and it sold in less than 6hrs. What a legendary engine. I have 2 of the 4.0l V8's right now. One of em is built by Monty (if you know, you know) in Florida and is insanely powerful and the other is still in bone stock form. I love em both. Old school OMC Looper I3's, V4's V6's and V8's are still my favorite outboards. Unbelievably reliable and easy to own and maintain. Long Live 2-Strokes.😊

  They called itva 300 for insurance purposes but give you a motor with 390 to 400 hp. And they made a 280 f1 large v6. With one big 110mm intake and they couldn't put a case on it after building it. And they had rotory valves with no top end failure. They stop maki g things cuz they dont break and dont need to buy parts.

  Love to have heard one of those.<br><br>It&apos;s not the same, but I used to run crossflow V4s on a test prop, with the cover off, wide-open at 5500 rpm for five minutes as a check-out before I sold them. At WOT, even those V4s sounded like an enraged wounded animal. &nbsp;This was at an isolated reservoir, so I wasn&apos;t bothering anyone. &nbsp;But I must have stunned the fish. About 10 seconds after I throttled back, one time, a bald eagle nailed a fish not 30 feet behind the trailer.<br><br>Those big OMC 2-strokes were gas hogs. But they laughed at salt water use, and pushing big hulls.

  Im in the process of completely rebuilding a Johnson v4 115. I bought some 135 high compression heads and will be putting the bubble back exhaust housing on it. I live at 6k foot elevation so I need all the help I can get. Im quite excited to get it running.

  So today you can name your price for one. That&apos;s my luck, 15 yrs ago I couldn&apos;t give away my beautiful 39 ft shadow cat with twin johnson v8&apos;s that ran perfect. Back then everyone was scared that all lakes would be banning 2 strokes and where scared they would be. Auctioned it twice on ebay and never mat my minimum reserve. &nbsp;Made me sick what I let that boat go for, and haven&apos;t gave it a thought in a very long time. Then I watch this video and sick again. And that&apos;s just for what I sold it for, im trying not to search what one sells for today cuz ill probably be twice as sick.
