  i worked for gw retail for a few years, and had occasional visits to head office for training or interviews, and i cannot stress how much like an abilusive relationship GW is as an employee. they deliberately make you feel like you dont deserve anything better. their interview and training process (the sergeants course) is humiliating and belittling. and theyll tell you that this makes it world class. former management bordered on cult-like behaviour. <br><br>the colleagues are amazing, but the organisation, and the systems they use are awful. its incredible to me how deep the brainwashing is that people like peachy and louise can leave and talk earnestly about trauma (and its genuine trauna too!), but then STILL defend the company as a great place to work. it isnt a great place to work, its awful, terrible management, terrible pay and terrible progression. its a rotten place and organisation

  My biggest Fuck up at GW(retail) was ordering paint brushes, we always used to order individual brushes, so if you wanted 20, you put 20. We always ordered 100 Std brushes as we went through them pretty quickly, both in sales and using them in store. So I did the usual order, when it came in they&apos;d changed it from individual brushes to boxes of 20, so, yeah, we got 100 x 20 brushes. Nobody told me it had changed, you&apos;d have though the ordering dept might have rung and said, &quot;do you really need 2000 brushes this week?&quot; But no. So we were good for Std brushes for quite some time

  It sucks to hear that overall, the company went from selling a shared imagination to only imagining if they thought it would sell. That&apos;s why the older games are as immersive as they are. They&apos;ve just become a corporate machine like everything else.

  My daughter was born 3 weeks ago, and have had it in my mind to do hobby when wife’s asleep and i take the night shift 9pm to 4am. not had a chance to do any hobby yet but cracked open a box last night and got the sprues out… it’s a start 😅

  I remember years ago when Peachy and Duncan worked at the Derby GW Store I only met them a few times but they both seamed like good lads, and its good to see they are both doing well.

  The Peachy sounds like the best kind of manager to have: human, understanding, forgiving &amp; importantly they back their staff and don&apos;t let them get shit on for someone else&apos;s incompetence. &nbsp;They understand when you mess up so it&apos;s easier for you to understand if they mess up. &nbsp;This was a great interview, very enlightening. &nbsp;Subbed and thank you both. 🤘🏼 &nbsp;-Matt GGG

  I was one of those staff that lost their job during the Lotr era. They took us into the meeting room one day and told us that they were making all part-time staff redundant. I was weeks away from finishing Uni and was planning on going full-time afterwards. The news was pretty gutting at the time as I loved the job, though it did open up the opportunity for me to travel so I made the most of it and spent the next three years travelling Asia. I would probably have stayed on at GW HQ for years to come had I not been made redundant. Looking back I&apos;m grateful for the opportunity it gave me but even to this day I do miss the job. Still have my old work shirts, payslips and redundancy letter somewhere.

  Warhammer live broadcasts were a godsend during covid times. Peachy Louise et al. deserve all the success they have gotten.
