The fact that these people are not being permanently removed from the tournament scene over stuff like this is an absolute damning indictment of said tournament scene.

Edit: I worked at a bank at one point, and we can 100% spot counterfeits like that after a bit of experience.

Never start a Car Park Fight with a Dark Angels Player. They may still have Ezekiel in their army.

I got cheated on by dice back in Xwing. Took it to the judge, they didn't do anything, said I could request same dice rule in the future. Had to play him again in the finals and I called at the beginning of the game for the same dice rule, we were going to use mine. Over the course of the game by turn four I realized that the dice pool was rolling funny again and the dice pool (aka only my own set) had somehow... Grown!? And proceed to catch the dice from his box were missing, added to my pool, and he had been pulling them back to his side of the dice tray to keep track of them. Brought it again to the judge who wussed out and chose to take no action even with the evidence in his face. Terrible feeling I never forgot.

imagine cheating in a hobby game where you spend hours and to have fun, socialize with likeminded people. If you need to cheat to win a golden ticket. You're obviously not good enough to be there.

2 stories: I met a dice cheater in Denmark back in 5th edition. He had a blue dice that always rolled 4,5 or 6. Very useful when rolling invulnerable saves. I stole it from him.

I also drove a taxi 25 years ago. I handled so much cash I could tell how much money I had in my hand from the weight alone. Can't do that today, haven't touched a coin in more than 6 years.

The other cheating scandal, which was the second chronologically, was the Ork player making lots of beneficial misplays

It’s gonna come down to the T.O.s providing dice for their events. Both players sharing the same set. That’s the easiest solution imo.

In 7th edition, at the peek of madness, Warhammer tournaments banned dice. Every table had plain white Warhammer dice and everyone had to use them. You brought your own hand sanitizer for after each game. I actually ran out and my last opponent gave me the rest of his.

The biggest red flag is a player who won't let you roll their dice. The way we usually play is you just pick up the dice the opponent rolled as then you don't need to count out more dice for the saves

I'm upset these players who do cheat aren't publicly ostrized for it enough. I think the public shame with getting caught could be a good deterrent and then the community knows to avoid said players

For what it's worth, if you all of a sudden stopped using those dice while judges were watching, that would be a prerty clear indication as well.
