  Im gonna take a stab in the dark and assume the throne is not operating as we might think, what if the psykers being sacrificed to keep the emperor "alive" is actually whats keeping him contained in this perpetual state

  I like the theory that the GE would easily heal himself if they turned off the Astronomincon for like 100 years, but how many human worlds would fall in that window of no FTL travel?

  Maybe its as simple as he returns stronger everytime he dies, and he is forever living and dieing..and just becoming stronger and stronger..he did say return me to the golden throne..seeing the future maybe it is what he wanted

Sadly, again only Malcador witnessed this while he was burning to a crisp on the Golden Thone so noone knows this. Consideing this shard supposedly contained all his compassion, empathy, etc (everything that would have made it harder for him to kill Horus, cause apparently he had become quite attached to the &quot;tools&quot; he created) what would get up from the throne now definetly would differ from what was seated on it... So the Emperor&apos;s plan is most likely to get his shard back and all these divine interventions we see might actually be the actions of the Starchild, because I doubt that a shard of the Emperor, empowered with so much warp juice it would have turned him into the Dark King, the 5th Chaos God, would have been gobbled up by some warp entity just like that. And who knows, maybe they still have a loose connection and a mutual desire to become whole again. EIther way it explains the less than heartfelt reuinion Guilliman experienced when he entered the throne room to talk to his father

  I didn&apos;t know this was such a mystery. Horus nearly killed him. He even bled his perpetual energy from him. So the throne is killing him and he can&apos;t heal fast enough to revive. <br>Easy peasy.

  <a href="https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=IvjEhGtQkZA&amp;t=418">6:58</a> I think you forgot the failsafe the Emperor himself ordered Vulkan to insert into the throne in the event he would lose the battle against Chaos, a weapon he had ordered Vulkan to make and later erased the memory... a last resort device so powerful it would destroy Terra (and ideally the Chaos gods with them (due to the now permanently open Chaos gate on Terra thanks to Magnus timely intervention when he tried to Warn Big E that Horus had turned on the Imperium)... which would make it even more reasonable why he doesn&apos;t just get up from the throne to resurrect... he would need a potent pyker the instant he leaves the throne powerful enough to live long enough for him to regenerate.. I wonder why everyone keeps forgetting it. It&apos;s in one of the Horus Heresy noves, &quot;Old Earth&quot; I believe (?). The moment the Emperor leaves the throne Terra explodes, the irony being that only Vulkan and the Emperor know this, and neither are in a state to tell anyone

  Yet whats on the throne is what’s left after the emperor sent all the good bits into the warp so now there’s this star child thing which is the good bits and faith and all these parts that are the emperor but not the emperor so we have the throne emperor we have the terminus decree coz just in case bruh need the the plot drop so bad.

The Aeldari farseer said that even Guilliman could basically become a God against his will if enough people started to have faith in him because faith had real power (and we know it does in the world of wh40k) if I remember correctly, and if I do that idea terrified Guilliman greatly... so this is another piece of information that makes it unlikely that spending 10.000 years on the Golden Throne to slowly transform into a God was the grand plan all along
