  Yeah, but I think Adama knew that Pegasus has a weakness, because he once said "Not likely" to the president when the President mentions that Pegasus would have greater advantage over Galactica.

  Galactica was always seen as being the superior ship, that's why in the modern series when it was decided to sacrifice one of the battlestars in order for the colonials to escape their new world which had been taken over by Cylons they sacrificed Pegasus NOT Galactica and just transferred all of the most important equipment and supplies from Pegasus to Galactica. In fact in the original 1970's series the Jupiter class Galactica WAS at that time the most powerful ship in the entire fleet.

  The colonial fleets were  mostly useless they were all destroyed in the very first attack by only 3 base Stars they lacked the one thing that the Battlestar Galactica had and that was plot armor but I did enjoy watching this show when it first came out

  Why do I get the impression that at one time, the Colonies had laser weapons? I believe they ended them solely because the Cylons advanced far more in armor and other defensive technologies that rendered them obsolete? Perhaps the Colonies felt there was not enough time to make more advanced laser cannons and opted for a tried, well proven technology like magnetic rail guns? <br><br>Or they perhaps abandoned laser weapon technology as a sort of &quot;olive branch&quot; to the Cylons after the First Cylon War? They agreed not to develop laser or energy based weapons, so did the Cylons? They agreed to keep to their borders (Which Adama broke), and they agreed to keep a more or less even keel in weapons development, so one side didn&apos;t outpace the other? The Armistice Treaty was never really explained what was included? And not included in concessions.

  I&apos;ve still got some of TopCow Laura comics. Even got the team up with Witchblade. In one of the comics. Laura was a &nbsp;gun ho character . &nbsp;Witchblade told her not to shoot to kill all the time. Which I think why. In the TopCow comics. She didn&apos;t kill as much.. Nice bit of comic history. I never got the full storys. So ill look out for the hardbacks. 😊👍

  Some errors in this video. Firstly, Galactica also had forward facing heavy guns. Though they chose not to use them in the series for whatever reason, they are there and are part of the Jupiter class. &nbsp;Mercury class wasn&apos;t the biggest or most powerful, &nbsp;thats the Nova class. Unknown how many there were but Prometheus was a Nova. &nbsp;They are more than 3,000 feet longer than the Mercury class.
